Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do I do if I scan my Valencia ID at a Print Station it doesn't log me in?
    • Make sure you have the barcode side of your ID facing the barcode reader. 
    • Hold the barcode area so that it is fully covered by the red laser like light. 
    • Do not hold your ID too close, about 3-6 inches away from the barcode reader.
    • If you hear the barcode reader beep but the unit does not log you in, ask a Library staff member for assistance
  • What do I do if my print job isn't showing to release at the Printing Station?
    • If using a Library PC, make sure you finishing clicking on Print and also confirming the print cost at the confirmation window.
    • Try logging into another Print Station to see if your print job is available to release
    • Log into the Student Printing Portal, http://print.valenciacollege.edu and click on Jobs Pending Release to see if they are listed there
    • If you submitted the print job longer than 48 hours ago it is automatically deleted
    • Contact a Library staff member for assistance
  • How can I request a refund?
    • You may request a refund for defective prints or copies from a Library staff member at designated locations.
    • Refunds are only accepted for defective prints or copies which include:
      • Printer misfeeds or jams
      • Pages are smeared, have lines or "voids" or some other defect
    • Refends are not accepted for the following:
      • Accidentially printed the wrong document, page, etc.
      • Selected too many copies/sets of a document
      • Selected Color output instead of Black & White output
      • Using self provided paper
      • Quality not good enough (other than outlined above)
      • Scans

PAYMENTS

  • I'm getting an error when trying to add funds using PayPal (through the PaperCut website), what can I do?
    • Check the following that could be causing the issue: 
      • Your card is already associated with a specific PayPal account, and you're not logging in with that particular account.
      • Your card was associated with a PayPal account that has since been closed.
      • You've linked the card to a PayPal account, but have not yet confirmed it.
      • The billing address you've entered for your PayPal account is different than the one on your card statement.
      • Your card company did not accept the $1.00 authorization sent by PayPal when you attempted to add the card.
      • Your email address is raising a red flag in PayPal's system.
    • If you have a PayPal account, it is always recommended to login to your account to submit your payment.
  • Why do I have a charge on my credit card / bank statement of "PAYPAL *SEMINOLEOS"
    • Payments made using the PaperCut web interface run through PayPal's payment system.  Seminole Office Solutions manages the printing system for Valencia College.

Helpful Hints

  • Make sure you confirm your print job cost and total pages before release.
  • If printing from a Library PC, you will see a confirmation of the document, how many pages and the total cost.  
  • When releasing any print job from the Print Station, confirm the page cost and details (color or B&W) PRIOR to releasing
  • Select desired color mode (Color or Black & White) prior to printing or copying
